December 2020 Blog

Dear All,

It’s been a crazy year to say the least, honestly, unlike any other year I’ve ever experienced. Hundreds of millions of Americans feel the same way. Despite the sadness and terribleness that accompanied 2020, I have come away with a newfound appreciation for normalcy, health, healthcare workers, teachers, technology, and common humanity, among so many others.

Not to use COVID-19 as an excuse, but it’s thrown off a lot of time tables for projects and so many other things in not only my own life, but so many others as well. The silver lining for me is to be able to become more motivated and capable as both an artist and human being; as well as increase my abilities in tandem with songwriting, project completion, recording processes, and so much more.

I want to send a huge shout out to Baddogsbite. We’ve now collaborated on three songs, and all three will be near completion soon. I also want to shout out to Colorado Springs, and the artists D-Stylz and Hi-Key, who are also working with me on a song produced by longtime favorite Sid Madrid.

We’ve got a lot of goodies on the way, and I appreciate the patience from everyone as we keep working to bring you the best music we are capable of delivering. Within the next few months, we should be close to wrapping up and finally releasing the long-anticipated Epic Vertex full length album The Apogee LP. When complete, it will boast a total of 17 tracks. It will include all tracks from The Apogee EP (2016), as well as more than 12 new tracks, including guest appearances by Colorado sensation Baddogsbite, and fellow Snow Monk artist Thainy Spyce. It will also have production and mixing by producer phenoms NACHR, Sid Madrid, and Brandon “Vandal” Vandaloo.

Another milestone soon to be accomplished, certainly in the first quarter of 2021, will be my deluxe anthology of poetry written during and inspired by my experiences living and working in China up until 2016. The book will be published by ULTIMATE Academy Press and NewType Music, and available as both an eBook as well as a physical copy. In addition, lyrics books for Stranger in the Strange Land (2013), The Red Prototype and the Blue Prototype, as well as The Apogee LP (2021) will also become available in 2021 as well, likely by second or third quarter of the year.

In addition, I’ll be working on completing my third solo album with full-steam once The Apogee LP is finished, and the timetable I’m hoping for is to have it released by the end of 2021, along with a lyrics book. My third solo LP, in keeping with the pattern established, will be called, The Green Prototype, and once again is largely inspired by experiences and work completed while journeying in China and Asia. It will feature production from Sid Madrid, NACHR, Zonin’ Jonesin, and Brandon “Vandal” Vandaloo; and likewise feature fellow Snow Monk artists, as well as D-Stylz and Hi-Key, and Baddogsbite.

The one last thing I want to touch on is projects by fellow NewType Music artists. First, we have the incomparable Thainy Spyce of Snow Monk releasing her debut EP by the 2nd quarter of 2021. There will be some special tracks on there, and as usual she’s absolutely phenomenal. Second, I want to send a big shoutout to fellow WRECKREATE member Zonin’ Jonesin who is very close to releasing his first mix for all of your listening pleasures. Best wishes and congratulations to both Thainy and Zonin’ Jonesin! Finally, today is DP’s birthday, so big shoutout to her! I love you babe!

I know there’s a lot on our plates as we move forward, but things are progressing rapidly. Our first release for this round of projects will be the song “Trans World Express” featuring Baddogsbite and Thainy Spyce as the lead single for The Green Prototype as well as be included in Thainy Spyce’s EP. In any case, I love all of you guys and on behalf of the NewType Music family, we wish everybody happy holidays and far better year in 2021 (hopefully) than we did in 2020.

Take care everyone, stay cool, stay calm, wear a mask, social distance, be responsible, keep pursuing your dreams, and appreciate everything you have.

Best to All,

Solace Zeta
